Your first hour in the workspace

Set up so leads reach you, your public page is worth sending, and nothing arrives somewhere you never look. Do this once, in this order.

The order matters. Notifications before leads, because a lead that arrives while you are not watching is the only kind that goes cold. Public page before campaigns, because there is no point driving traffic to a page that is still a placeholder.

Setup, in order

  1. Decide where you want to be interrupted

Turn on the alerts you will actually act on and turn off the rest. An agent who mutes everything because the volume was wrong is worse off than one who never set it up.

  2. Fill in your profile properly

Photo, brokerage, licence, the areas you actually work and two or three sentences that sound like you. This is the content of your public page — a thin profile makes a thin page.

  3. Publish your public page and look at it

Open it as a stranger would, on a phone. It is the page every campaign, signature and QR code will point at.

  4. Connect your calendar before you take a showing

Without it, showing requests cannot check your availability and you will double-book. This is the one integration worth doing on day one.

  5. Send yourself a test lead

Submit a form on your own public page. Confirm it lands in Leads, that you got the notification you expected, and that the scenario came through. Finding out the plumbing works is worth five minutes now.

  6. Import what you already have

Bring your existing contacts in by CSV rather than working two systems. The importer maps columns and flags duplicates before it writes anything.
